Surrounded on three sides by water and located in the far south of Ontario, Essex County enjoys
long summers, short winters and is the warmest county in the province.
With Lake Erie to the south, the Detroit River to the west, and Lake St. Clair to the north, our climate is heavily influenced by the water. With over 200 miles of waterfront homes, there is something available for every budget.
We are located about 4 hours south-west of Toronto and a few minutes south of Detroit Michigan. The county is a robust manufacturing and agriculture center. It has a rapidly expanding tourism industry thanks in part to the 18 local wineries and 15 craft breweries. The area also has an extensive 800-mile network of walking and biking trails.
